Used for: Voltage conversion and isolation at low power
Pros:
- Simplest isolated conversion topology
- No output choke as in forward converter
- Can be very simple to stabilise
Cons:
- Only suits lowish power to around 100W
- Hi output riupple current, >DC current
- Needs a transformer gap
- Transformer approximately scales in size with power. Forward doesnt
